Q) What is the game being made in?

A) It's being made in Game Maker Studio 1.4! I've considered switching over to Unreal Engine, since I'm learning how to use it university, but I feel like despite its limitations GMS1.4 suits the project better. It feels more handmade and personal the way it looks now, so I don't think I'll change it.

Q) What is the music being made in?

A) I use LMMS. It gets the job done lol. This is the first time I've tried to make an OST all on my own, so I'm learning as I go. There might be a point where I'll have to ask for help with the music, though...

Q) How long has the game been in development?

A) Technically the project started in 2018, but it didn't actually become "DoodleTrip" until early 2019. You can play the original prototypes of the 2018 version here! And here's what the very first version of the actual DoodleTrip looked like:

Q) When do you plan on releasing the game fully?

A) I'm not really sure yet! I'd like to think 2022, maybe 2023 at the latest.

Q) Will you be doing a Kickstarter for this game?

A) Currently there's no plans for one, but if I ever feel like extra funding would help improve the game substantially, I wouldn't rule it out. But for now, it's just a personal project I work on when I can.

Q) Will there be a demo?

A) Most likely. It depends on how well I think the game would work in a demo format, since there's plans for a mechanic that would make this difficult.

Q) Are there any plans for translations?

A) Not at the moment, but I'm trying to make it easy for translations to be made if people feel like making their own.

Q) Do you have any other projects besides DoodleTrip?

A) I do! You can find them on my GameJolt page (the link is at the bottom of the page, just click the GameJolt icon). I'm currently working on an Undertale/Deltarune fan-project called "DONTFORGET" alongside this game.

Q) Will you port DoodleTrip to Mac, Linux, consoles, etc.?

A) Right now I can only promise a Windows release. I'm definitely looking into releasing on Mac and maybe Linux as well. Consoles probably not, but who knows!

Q) Will you release DoodleTrip on Steam?

A) That's the plan! I'll probably also release the game on GameJolt and itch.io.

Q) What inspired you to make DoodleTrip?

A) I wanted to create a game based on that feeling you get when you find old stuff from your childhood and then sit and reminisce for a while. Other people do that too, right?
